Back in Action!

Now that my roommate is updating her new blog daily, I am feeling the pressure to post some new stuff! I have been up to many things lately, not only photography, but jewelry making, painting, designing, just about everything. This past year I have started many new hobbies, and left them feeling lonely and in the dark. I tend to do this often… best not to become one of my “hobbies.” Along with picking up the mandolin again, which still lies dusty under my bed, I said I would post more photographs. Well, you see… I am a design student, completely overwhelmed with the task of putting out new ideas constantly to edit and tweak my projects; with that I am always coming up with new things I want to do on the side, always trying to build the portfolio, but it doesn’t seem to happen!
If any of you read Mandy’s blog you will know that we both applied to schools in New York City. I hesitate when I say I am excited to go there. Really, nervousness and nausea are more like the two words that describe my feelings… taking the subway seems exciting, and living in a never sleeping city does too.. but endless hours in the studio along with freezing cold weather is not really something to look forward to.

I had a dream last night that Mandy called me and read me my acceptance letter…
weird..
I don’t really feel like I will be getting in. They accept 65 people, which is just outrageous! But I can never say never (haha)
and I will remain confident until I receive the letter.

As for now.. I know I am just rambling, but here are a few things I have been working on…
A necklace, which Nick helped with, or rather, he just put in his opinion and I continued bending the wire.. but I do feel we made it together..

and then also, a poster design I am doing for Intro to Graphic Design, we had to focus on one design blog, and I choose an inspirational minimalist design blog called Aisleone.net
This is just the rough!..
and maybe one photo from my hometest, which was sent to The Cooper Union…

It has been awhile, so here are a few new things in my life…
cat: Fred! Best cat ever!!!! and new glasses!! Fun, eh?

Enjoy! Hope all is well! I’d love to hear comments from everyone letting me know what they are up to and what is new in their lives!

Missing this!

Maury – I think these are winderful; hmmm….I just tried to spell “wonderful” but it came out with “win” at the beginning. I think I’ll leave it because you’re such a WINNER. NY will be cold but I know that you’ll be in love with it in no time and that you WILL get in up there! Keep it coming; I love reading your Blog.

    Dearest Mary Beth,
If if fact, your art work leads one to Christ, then so be it. Bring Him glory in your work. Touch souls, Mary Beth and lead them to light and away from darkness. Daniel, a faithful young man said just what I would like to tell you:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for both wisdom and power belong to Him. It is He who changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and He establishes kings. He gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding. It is He who reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what lurks in the darkness, and the light dwells in Him.”
Walk away from humanism. No, don’t walk. Run! When you sense darkness, as you mentioned, seek the One who will promptly fill you with His GRACE. I love you so much and am so pleased that you have this wonderful gift of creativity. I am confident that He will give you both wisdom and knowledge to pursue whatsoever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, and if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, that you will dwell on these things. And, the God of Peace WILL BE WITH YOU. Mimi

  3. Think of all the cute jackets, scarfs and hats we can wear in the cold! This time next year we will be fashionable (and broke) New York residents, I JUST KNOW IT! Glad you’re back to the blog world. We don’t talk enough on a daily basis so I’m glad we have this form of communication to keep us together. HA

  4. Niles and Fred need to have a play date.
