(I tried to post it on Thursday, but I was literally 10 seconds too late… This doesn’t count as Fridays post!)
This day has seemed slow and tiresome…
I woke up feeling rested, but just not ready to get out of bed. Snoozing my alarm at five minute intervals made the experience not as bad, but history is history, and it about killed me!
I got to speak with Dr. Brodie about rent controlled apartments (he is from NY), and he made me feel like there is some possibility that it could happen! I am so eager to know whether or not I got into Cooper Union. I am already telling myself it is no, so I will not be disappointed, but there is something inside of me saying, “Hey, I think it could happen. I think this is your chance.” But, either way, I will hopefully be filling out my navy blue “September” Moleskin for adventures in NYC, whether it be for class at Cooper Union or SVA.
Creative energy has a weird feeling, you creative people out there know what I am talking about…
and I have a lot of it lately, but only when it comes to sewing, or painting, or carving my own wood stamps…
I reorganized and painted my desk not so long ago, and I purchased a book called “The Encyclopedia of Sewing” by Martha Stewart. I know it sounds cheesy, and Martha is like the queen of cheese and all homemakers, but I really enjoyed the book. I haven’t finished it, but it is one of those awesome, large, colorful picture, coffee table kind of books… so of course I just had to look at it!
My goal is to read a couple pages every few days; to say I will read multiple pages everyday is just not realistic, I have way too many things going on to do that, but I am setting a goal.
Goals:
1. Organize life
2. Read a couple pages in Martha Stewart’s “Encyclopedia of Sewing” every couple days
3. Love my design work, or at least like what I finish
Change of subject…
I am stuck…. This doesn’t happen often when it comes to be creating or designing, but I am just not really loving this poster design I am working on. I have a rough critique at 9:00am, but I am not sure how to take it a step further. I like clean and simple design, or I like elaborate, collage-like, and hand drawn design. Anyways, here it is… help me out?

I tried adding a grid, I have tried adding dots.. I just cannot get it to the point that I want it…
But, on another note…
Tomorrow is Friday, I have class, lab, then work…
Work will be really fun! I hope everyone can stop by. The Blue Shoe will be there with all of their boots 50% off and Perch will be having a sale on jewelry as well! There will also be cupcakes and wine, so all you 21 year olds, come enjoy yourselves and make some jewelry while chilling with some awesome people!
